DraftKings has released a number of statements ahead of the anticipated online sports betting market launch in Kentucky.

The legislation was passed back in March 2023, with regulators agreeing to launch sports betting in the state on 7 September, with a delayed online sportsbook launch for 28 September.

As anticipated, DraftKings will be among the first operators to launch its sportsbook as soon as possible, alongside FanDuel, Bet365, Circa, BetMGM, Caesars and Fanatics.

Matt Kalish, DraftKings North America President, said: “Kentucky marks the 24th Jurisdiction overall where DraftKings is live, and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to deliver sports fans across Kentucky with our safe and legal mobile DraftKings Sportsbook app.

“It’s an exciting time of year with the NFL and college football seasons currently underway, and we look forward to being the ultimate host, providing customers with a seamless and enjoyable sports betting experience.”

For the launch, DraftKings has partnered with Matt Jones, Kentucky Sports Radio Host, who will also place the inaugural bet through the DraftKings Sportsbook app in the state.

On the partnership, Jones said: “I am excited to team up with DraftKings and their top-rated sportsbook to deliver KSR listeners and sports fans across Kentucky with engaging content and the latest DraftKings offerings.”

The DraftKings sports betting app will allow customers to participate in standard betting markets, as well as live betting and tournament-like events with friends.
