MotoGP and Sportradar announce partnership

MotoGPGP has revealed today that, starting with the 2017 season; MotoGP, Moto2, and Moto3 seasons will all be monitored by Sportradar’s Integrity Services as one aspect of a multi-year partnership focused on ensuring integrity in the sport. Sportsradar will be offering its Fraud Detection System (FDS) to the industry to prevent fraudulent betting patterns from going unnoticed. For the first time in the motorsport industry there will be a range of integrity services monitoring the most prominent motorbike races across the world. Sportradar’s FDS monitors and analyses betting movements and patterns across the full complement of races MotoGP offers for the entirety of the year-long seasons. Five Education and Prevention Workshops will be conducted by Sportsradar to a broad range of participants and stakeholders. An e-learning program will also be provided for all riders and teams in the MotoGP brand. Andreas Krannich, Managing Director Integrity Services at Sportradar, comments: “MotoGP have sought the full suite of our Integrity Services to ensure that no stone is left unturned and that no compromises are made. We look forward to working with them and their stakeholder for the next few years and helping them keep MotoGP an example of best practice in the world of motorsports”. Carmelo Ezpeleta, Dorna Sports CEO, says: “Prevention of any problem is always more prudent than cure and for sure betting related sport fixing is a problem. It is a problem that thankfully has not hit our sport but it is one that is causing real concern across other sports worldwide. We do not want to get to the point where we are remedying a problem that has encroached onto motorcycle racing, if we can avoid it by being proactive and resolute. This is what this partnership is about: about education, about deterrence and about defences.”
