While the top of the English Premier League table is a two-team race between Manchester City (82 points) and Arsenal (81 points), there’s still plenty at stake down the stretch with clubs jockeying for top-four positions as well as teams in the cellar trying to avoid relegation. This weekend’s Matchday 36 slate offers six matches on Saturday, three on Sunday, and a Monday tilt between Leicester City and Liverpool.
Let’s dive into my three favorite plays on the pitch this weekend!

Leeds (+380) vs. Newcastle (-150), Draw (+340) | 2.5 (-160/+130)
Leeds United (30 points) is set to host Newcastle United (65 points) Saturday morning in a match that kicks off at 7:30 a.m. ET from Elland Road in Leeds, U.K.
Newcastle is in an excellent position in the EPL right now, sitting in third place while having games in hand over the outside challengers trying to make their way into a top-four spot. The Magpies also have a favorable schedule down the stretch as they’ll face two teams that are currently below the relegation line: Leeds and Leicester (30 points).
I’m comfortably laying the juice that comes with Newcastle to win this match. They’re taking on a Leeds team that’s been awful recently, going winless over their previous six matches (0-1-5). They’ve also given up 15 goals over the six ties, which won’t bode well against a Newcastle side that’s scored the sixth-most goals this campaign (61).
Bet: Newcastle Moneyline (-150)
Everton (+750) vs. Manchester City (-275), Draw (+425) | 2.5 (-160/+125)
Manchester City is the talk of the soccer world right now as they continue to dominate the European front. They’re holding the top spot in the Premier League, they’re 90 minutes away from punching a ticket to the UCL Final, and they’re set to play in the FA Cup Final against Manchester United on June 3rd. City will travel to Goodison Park on Sunday morning for a 9:00 a.m. ET kickoff against Everton (32 points).
What I was alluding to with the long introduction for this match is that Manchester City has plenty of meaningful football to be played over the next 30 days. Considering they’re taking on an Everton side that’s fighting for its EPL life right now, I think this presents a potential letdown spot for the Cityzens. I can see their minds being away from this match as Pep Guardiola’s men have a massive UCL tilt against Real Madrid on Wednesday.
Everton is coming off of a colossal 5-1 beatdown of Brighton & Hove Albion Monday and they haven’t lost yet this month. The People’s Club is 1-2-1 over its last four matches so I expect them to hang around in this one. Let’s take the 1.5 goals with Everton on Sunday morning.
Bet: Everton +1.5 (-130)
Arsenal (-135) vs. Brighton (+330), Draw (+320) | 3.5 (+130/-165)
Brighton’s stunning loss to Everton on Monday certainly put a damper on their hopes of claiming a top-four spot. They currently have 55 points, but still have five matches yet to play. They’ll have a tough one Sunday morning as they travel to Emirates Stadium in London to take on Arsenal. Kickoff is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. ET.
Considering these are two of the best offenses in the Premier League, I’m going to lock in the over 3.5 goals with a plus-money payout. The Gunners are putting together a fantastic campaign and it has been the offense that’s powered the way. They’ve found the back of the net 83 times (2nd). Arsenal will host a Brighton squad that’s netted 63 goals this season (5th).
Brighton’s recent matches have seen them reach the four-goal mark in three of their last four ties. As for Arsenal, they’ve gotten there in seven of their last eight matches. Look for the Seagulls to push the pace in this game as they try to notch a win and reach the top four. Let’s sit back and watch these two dynamic offenses go to work €“ give me the over!
Bet: Over 3.5 Goals (+130)
