Premier League Matchday 10 Preview & Best Bets (2023)

Odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook

Napoli (-250) vs. Union Berlin (+650), DRAW (+400) | 2.5 (-145/+115)

As always, we have a pair of early matches kicking off the day. Those two tilts include Napoli hosting Union Berlin, and Real Sociedad squaring off against Benfica. I’ll be focusing on the former, which kicks off at 12:45 p.m. ET from Diego Armando Maradona in Napoli, Italy.

There’s poor form, and then there’s what’s happening in the capital city of Germany with Union Berlin. The Iron Ones have dropped 12 straight contests across all competitions. They’re even running the risk of being relegated in the Bundesliga through the early going, sitting at 16th in the table.

Napoli enters as a massive favorite, but I can’t justify laying a -250 price. So, I’ll take a shot and give up the 1.5 goals with the Italian side. The Blues may not be an offensive powerhouse, but they’ll have an opportunity to stretch out this lead against a Berlin squad that owns a 5.1 xGA through three matches. Factor in the home-field advantage, and I think it’s worth a flier.

Bet: Napoli -1.5 (+110)

FC Copenhagen (+330) vs. Manchester United (-130), DRAW (+310) | 2.5 (-145/+115)

The afternoon slate in the Champions League features six matches across Europe. One of the intriguing contests sees Manchester United square off against FC Copenhagen in Denmark. Kickoff is slated for 3:00 p.m. ET from Parken Stadium in Copenhagen.

This is a must-win match for both squads, who entering Wednesday, sit in the bottom two spots in Group A. United (3 points) won the head-to-head match against Copenhagen (1 point) at Old Trafford in a 1-0 effort a couple of weeks ago. Originally, I liked Erik ten Hag’s club to pick up their second straight victory in this spot.

However, that was before I realized how dominant the Danish side has been at their home ground. According to Flashscore, Copenhagen is 6-8-3 in their last 17 UCL home matches. That may not seem like much, but 14 out of 17 matches without a loss qualifies as a fortress in my book. There’s just no way that I can back the Red Devils in their current form to secure the three points. I’ll play the draw here, and I think we see something along the lines of a 1-1 tie. Between the injuries (and suspension) for the English side, I just don’t see them being able to out-pace the Lions. Let’s take a shot at the draw.

Bet: Draw (+310)

PSV Eindhoven (-135) vs. Lens (+360), DRAW (+310) | 2.5 (-150/+120)

Another one of the underrated matchups on Wednesday sees Lens make the trip to the Netherlands to square off against PSV Eindhoven. The two sides played to a 1-1 draw on matchday three. This contest kicks off at 3:00 p.m. ET from Philips Stadion in Eindhoven.

Arsenal (six points) looks comfortably in control of Group B at the moment, sitting one point ahead of Lens and four points above both Sevilla and Eindhoven. The table is what makes this match so interesting as a victory can catapult the Dutch side up the group table.

I’m going to ride with Eindhoven to pick up the three points on their home pitch. They own a 3.6 xG mark through three matches, which is second in the group. This offense has a ton of room to improve considering they’ve found the back of the net 41 times over 11 domestic tilts this season. They’re 11-0-0 in the Dutch Eredivisie, which includes a 5-0-0 stretch at home where they’ve outscored opponents 18-4. Something has to give with this offense, and I think they figure things out on Wednesday. Give me Eindhoven on the moneyline.

Bet: PSV Eindhoven Moneyline (-135)
