Betsson has signed an agreement to become the main sponsor of the BNP Paribas Nordic Open.

The tennis tournament, which is considered the largest in the Nordics and the oldest indoor tournament in the world, will next take place from 12-20 October 2024 at the Royal Tennis Hall in Stockholm.

Through this sponsorship deal, Betsson will have a presence during matches, will organise on-site activities and offer betting odds on all matches, with the tournament being broadcast on public TV.

In recent months, the operator has secured a number of other sponsorships within sports, such as Torino FC, Atlético Nacional and the Greek Cup, among others.

The group has previously engaged within the world of tennis too, including former player Jonas Björkman being an ambassador and also sponsoring ATP tournaments in Latin America.

Betsson Group Chief Commercial Officer Ronni Hartvig said: “We are extremely proud to sponsor and support this classic tournament. We have sponsored ATP tournaments before, but it feels extra special to do so in Sweden, where the company was founded over 60 years ago, just before the first Stockholm Open.

“We hope that through our support of the competition, our odds on the players, and our on-site activities, we can contribute to making the experience more enjoyable and memorable for everyone.”

BNP Paribas Nordic Open CEO Rasmus Hult added: “We are thrilled to welcome Betsson as the new main partner for the BNP Paribas Nordic Open. This partnership marks a significant milestone for our tournament, as Betsson’s extensive experience in sports sponsorship will elevate the profile and reach of the event.

“We eagerly anticipate the dynamic activities and offers that Betsson will bring to our fans, confident that these will make the experience even more engaging and memorable for everyone involved.”

Today, Betsson has also gained a local gaming licence within the newly regulated gambling market in Peru, which covers sports betting and online casino operations for the company’s Betsson and Betsafe brands.
