Pettit will be responsible for leading talent development and cultural enterprises at the operator, as well as implementing standardised best practices in workforce development.
She most recently served as Regional VP of Human Resources for Hard Rock Casino, overseeing some of its tribal-owned properties in Virginia, Illinois and Indiana.
Before that, Pettit was Regional VP of Human Resources with Caesars Entertainment, working at Horseshoe Hammond for 19 years.
Rush Street Gaming CEO Tim Drehkoff said: “Dawn is a proven leader in the gaming industry with a strong track record for developing and managing talent strategies, mentoring, and advocacy.
“As we prepare to open our fifth Rivers Casino in January 2023, located in Virginia’s Hampton Roads region, we’re excited to have Dawn join our growing team.”
In her new role, Pettit will be based out of Rush Street Gaming’s headquarters in Chicago. She said: “I’ve long admired Rush Street Gaming and its momentum in the casino industry.
“I look forward to collaborating with the amazing talent on the Rush Street teams and especially working with the HR leaders to take the people side of the business to a whole new level.
“Together we will further cement Rivers Casino as the employer of choice in all our markets.”
Alongside her new role at Rush Street Gaming, Pettit will remain a board member for the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana, Indiana University Northwest, Purdue University Northwest’s Chancellor’s Executive Council, Lake Central High School Booster Club and Girls on the Run.
