The historic Grand Lisboa hotel in Macau is gearing up for a major renovation early next year, as stated by SJM Resorts Managing Director Daisy Ho to media in Macau during an event promoting Macau’s International Dragon Boat Races.
The refurbishment will upgrade all 430 hotel rooms and suites, aiming to combine modern comfort with the building’s rich history. Additionally, new dining options will be introduced to appeal to both local and international guests. These upgrades aim to enhance the Grand Lisboa’s reputation as a key attraction in Macau’s entertainment and gaming scene.
SJM is currently focused on improving both the Grand Lisboa in downtown Macau and the Grand Lisboa Palace in Cotai. The planned upgrades to the Grand Lisboa reflect the dynamic nature of Macau’s gambling industry, which is also seeing growth in online gaming platforms, attracting enthusiasts to top-rated operators.
The renovation news came in light of SJM’s 2024 Q1 results, which shows positive post-pandemic growth and the potential to achieve more in the near future.
As mentioned in the earlier report, Daisy Ho has highlighted the company’s plans for large-scale international events to enhance its brand visibility and provide exceptional experiences for guests.
Refurbishing the Grand Lisboa by next year to accommodate a wider range of international guests and events aligns with the aforementioned plans.
