Maryland’s six casinos collectively reported total gaming revenue of $159.2m for February 2024, representing an increase of 1.4% compared to the same period in 2023.
Contributions to the state from casino gaming revenue amounted to $67.7m in February 2024, marking a 1.3%year-on-year.
These contributions encompass support for the Education Trust Fund, which received $48.9m during the month, up by 0.5% compared to the previous year.
Additionally, revenue from casino gaming contribute to various community initiatives, Maryland’s horseracing industry and small, minority- and women-owned businesses.
Detailed revenue breakdowns for February 2024 indicate:
– MGM National Harbor recorded $66.8m in gaming revenue, reflecting a 1.9% increase from February 2023.
– Live! Casino & Hotel generated $59.3m in gaming revenue, representing a 6.5% increase from the previous year.
– Horseshoe Casino Baltimore experienced a decline in revenue, reporting $14.9m, representing an 8.2% decrease from February 2023.
– Hollywood Casino Perryville saw a modest increase in revenue, totalling $7.4m, marking a 1.4% rise.
– Ocean Downs Casino reported $6.3m in gaming revenue, indicating a decrease of 7.0%.
– Rocky Gap Casino Resort reported $4.3m in gaming revenue, reflecting a decline of 18.6%.
Back in January 2024, Maryland’s sports betting industry showed promising growth, with a 23% increase in total handle and a substantial rise in revenue; however, the casino sector experienced a slight decline in gaming revenue during the same period.
