PointsBet achieves first ever broadcasting of sportsbook odds integration

superbowl

For the first time ever, we saw the inclusion of sportsbook odds integration within a Super Bowl broadcast, meaning another unique moment for both companies at the end of the football season.

PointsBet was given the chance to incorporate its odds integration into the Football Night in America studio show, as well as the Peacock Sunday Night Football Final, which is a post-match show.

Founded in 2015, PointsBet is based in Australia but holds a grasp of US sports since its launch into the US in 2019. Through its betting app alongside its online platforms, PointsBet offers a high-risk, high-reward form of sports betting.

The Super Bowl was held on Sunday 13 February and it was predicted that the event could generate a handle as large as $1bn through legal sportsbooks. Since the event, it has been acknowledged that betting records were broken in states such as Nevada, which saw nearly $180m wagered on the Super Bowl alone. According to unaudited ps from the Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB), this total is a 32% increase from 2021 results.

Fraud prevention and cyber security solutions company, GeoComply, recorded that in total over 80 million betting transactions took place within the US over the Super Bowl weekend.

This equates to an increase of 226% against last year’s stats; a rise that will be mostly attributed to the development in legalisation of online sports betting in the US across the last 12 months.
