Spain earns mixed results in online gambling revenue for Q3

Sports betting dropped by 15% year-on-year, bringing in €85.2m. Live betting brought in €52.6m, a 9% decline from 2019, and pre-match betting earned €31.5m, a 21% drop.

Online casinos reported €83.9m in revenue, a 26% year-on-year increase. Slots revenue was €49.8m, live roulette earned €22.4m and online poker earned €23m. Plus, cash games revenue was €6.5m and bingo suffered a 23% year-on-year drop to €4m.

Spain is set to get a new regulatory body to monitor gambling operations, the Ministry of Consumption and Gambling. It’s currently unclear if it will work together with DGOJ or replace it, but the new regulatory body will likely be led by Consumer Affairs Minister Alberto Garzón.
