The Kindred-owned brand has announced its continued sponsorship of 300 amateur football clubs in France through the #AuCoeurDuFootball programme.
Since 2019, Unibet has supported over 640 non-professional clubs in the country by outfitting their players with jerseys, shorts and socks, as well as providing clothes for the clubs’ volunteers.
And in 2022, the sports betting brand will offer a digital tool designed to ease their administrative burden, which it said, “smaller clubs so often need to battle.”
According to Regis Mace, FC Centre Bretagne, Unibet’s sponsorship saves clubs money and helps boost their profile.
He commented: “We have saved about €4,000 ($4,584) thanks to the football kits we have received, and the extra donations earned via our social media activity.
“It represents about 15% of our annual budget and has also helped to improve the image of our clubs.”
Pedro Sorbal, Es Paris XII, expressed a similar sentiment, saying: “We were really happy and proud to be selected as one of the clubs sponsored by Unibet.
“Both players and volunteers have felt grateful because it has helped our clubs to step up.”
Mathieu Drida, Kindred Group’s General Manager France, said he was honoured to be able to support grassroots football in his home country.
“We are very proud to continue supporting amateur football by financing the jersey kits of more than 300 clubs and 10,000 players everywhere in France,” said Drida.
“Due to the current pandemic, a lot of clubs have experienced a massive drop in their revenues and have seen their number of licensees decreasing.
“It was natural for us to strengthen our engagement with the Au Coeur Du Football programme and renew for a fourth season.”
