USBookmaking extends partnership with Santa Ana Star Casino Hotel

NewMexico

The tribal gaming operation hosts the Land of Enchantment’s first sportsbook, supported by USB.

Through self-service kiosks and in-person ticket counters, the Star offers event betting on all sports serviced by USB, including the NFL, NBA and MBA, as well as college football and basketball.

The property became New Mexico’s first to launch retail sports betting in 2018, powered by USB. The Star is operated by the Tamaya Nation, a federally recognised Indian tribe, and is located just north of New Mexico’s most populous city, Albuquerque.

John Salerno, USBookmaking’s Director of Operations, commented: “Our partnership with the Santa Ana Star began in 2018 and has been a success from the start and with this extension we will continue to provide a top sports wagering product to customers of the Star.

“We see progressing opportunities for sports wagering in tribal gaming, which is among one of the main segments that USB is focused on supplying now and into the future.”

Elys Game Technology, meanwhile, acquired USB in July 2021 for $12m. Back then, USB was touted as a central part of Elys’ US-facing brand.

Vic Salerno, President of USBookmaking, said at the time: “USB realised that to increase our client base we needed a sportsbook platform that was built for the United States market.”

In other news, Elys Game Technology recently received approval to expand its Grand Central Restaurant and Sportsbook in Washington DC.
